The case of Zygmunt Sztuka aka Jerzy Balicki „Wisman”, „Rust” and his criminal case before the Military Special Court of the Home Army

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the criminal case conducted by the Military Special Court at the Main Headquarters of the Home Army against Jerzy Balicki „Rust”, „Wisman” – a member of the Union of Armed Struggle, the Zamość District Inspectorate of HA. The paper discusses the portrait and activity of Jerzy Balicki „Rust” – commander of assault units of the UAS of Zamość. Moreover, the author pointed out the circumstances that led to his arrest, and the fates of the people that were affected by Balicki’s treason. The article also presents and discusses the body of evidence gathered in the case before the MSC, which constituted the basis for conducting the criminal proceedings and later passing the sentence, as well as shows the circumstances of the hearing before the court and of „Wisman’s” execution.
