Summary/Abstract: Recording a solo organ album poses a unique challenge, both for the performer and the recording engineer. Performer’s part includes getting used to a new, unknown and unique instrument, and fitting the repertoire’s stylistic and technical features to it. The engineer’s part calls for befitting the technology and recording process to the acoustic parameters of the church in which the instrument is housed and the particularities of the organ itself – a set of problems and specifics that are unique to each individual case. In addition, a maximum possible optimization is required of the technical equipment and logistics. This article deals with the particulars of such a project, from the point of view of both the performer and recording specialist.
