Summary/Abstract: In this article I would like to discuss a topic that is still current and concerns the safety of people who face domestic violence on a daily basis. Persisting in a violent relationship is a complex problem that is not always easy to recognize and effectively counteract. Often, in the early stages of a relationship, there are no clear indications of the possibility of this danger, and the would-be victim has no reason to believe that he or she may find themselves in a destructive situation in the future. In public discourse, domestic violence is mainly seen through the prism of social pathologies. People think that violent behavior is characteristic of homes, families, and places where alcoholism or drug addiction also occurs. Unfortunately, the group of people who are actually affected is much broader. Violence does not choose, it does not take into account age, education or wealth. Women in marriages and partnerships are a particularly vulnerable group.
