Summary/Abstract: We have chosen to focus on the works of Malika Mokeddem. Malika Mokeddem is an Algerian writer. She was born in Kenadsa, Algeria. Trained as a doctor specializing in nephrology, she studied in Oran and then Montpellier, where she left her profession to devote herself to literature. Mokeddemien's novels evoke the experience of female characters in a patriarchal society. The writer reveals a number of themes, such as solitude, exile and confinement. We are interested in the study of solitude in Mokeddemien's work. The focus of this work is on the analysis of this concept in its various facets. The Mokeddemian female character lives in a closed sphere of isolation and/or abandonment. Sultana, Kenza and Malika are among the female characters who have experienced an internal and physical exile. The latter inevitably leads us to delve deeper into the notion of confinement, given that Malika Mokeddem was also exiled. For this reason, writing about exile has become a necessity for her, and her texts provide us with all the essential elements for understanding the exiled state. We also explore inner exile in the form of confinement, psychic tearing and childhood pain and suffering. It is interesting to focus on the writing of exile, as such writing has become a power to overcome slavery and injustice in the face of a patriarchal society.
