Summary/Abstract: In 1966, when he published his second volume, „De ce zboară vulturul?", at the Tineretului Publishing House in Bucharest, Augustin Buzura was 28 years old, an editor of the magazine "Tribuna" in Cluj and was determined to confirm his publishing debut, which had also taken place in the capital three years earlier, with the volume of short stories and novellas „Capul Bunei Speranțe” (Editura pentru literatură, 1963). Reread now, more than half a century after publication, when the writer has long since left the novelist and the short story teller behind, it is impossible to escape the feeling that we are reading downwards: from the writer's last novel, „Raport asupra singurătății”, published in 2016, a year before his death, to these two volumes of short prose representing the beginnings of his literary career. In other words, from literary maturity to early youth.
