"Neutrochtonizarea" - an indirect approach to the theme of Jewishness in Mihail Sebastian's literature.

Summary/Abstract: The present essay examines a solution used by the young Mihail Sebastian (1907-1945) to indirectly insert the theme of identity - a theme of Jewishness, by default - into his prose considered to be uninterested in this theme, much of it written in the early 1930s, such as "Fragments of a Found Notebook" (1932)," Women" (1933), "City of Willows" (1935). It is a question of the solution of delegating identities that are as less particular and as easily identifiable as possible to the characters, but also to places, spaces and in general to references of all kinds that circulate in his literature.
