Summary/Abstract: In a technological world, we hear more and more often about the use of AI and of ChatGPT in various fields, from medicine, economics to law. Despite the numerous benefits that these AI applications present, they also involve risks for the users. ChatGPT uses a machine learning method known as transfer learning, which involves a model that is first trained on a data-rich task and then adjusted to each separate task. The data collected by the program is later used to create answers to questions and to generate conversations. There is a risk that personal data will be included in its pre-existing data set. In addition, user queries may also involuntarily reveal confidential information that represents personal data that thus ends up in the public domain. This article aims to address these issues from the perspective of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in order to analyze to what extent ChatGPT is compatible with it.
