Summary/Abstract: „Medea“ and „Elektra“ are the tragedies named after them, both of them originated from Greek myths, which were treated by the two greatest ancient tragedians, Euripides and Sophocles, in the history and theory of theater, they are basically characterized as ancient revenge heroines. As a special form of literary/theatrical expression and signifi cance, through different viewpoints, acting creativity and directorial poetics, the persistence and need for the interpretation of ancient tragedies is recognized and confi rmed, and thus the importance of ancient heroines - avengers on theater stages, having both ancient and contemporary sign. Corresponding with today’s society and time, ancient heroines are extremely important for the development of the actor’s and director’s personality, as well as for the development of the audience’s aesthetic experience. The need for the interpretation of ancient female avengers heroines in any form of storytelling, certainly arises in all eras, which are marked as turning points either in the theater world or in general, in the social consciousness and subconsciousness of man. This contributes to greater understanding and the need to deal with these significant characters in the history of dramatic creativity, but also the need for today’s audience as well as the younger acting population to profile themselves aesthetically against „easy, fun, superficial and commercial“ characters and works that are falsely classified under the concept of artistic creativity. . „Actantial method - in-depth analysis of tragedy“ will stand out as one of the many methods of theory work that are applied in the practice of an actor’s work for the creation of a character.
