Summary/Abstract: The divorce, one of the situations where a marriage ceases to exist, brings together with its pronouncement by the court or with the issuance of the divorce certificate in any of the two ways alternative to the judicial one, a set of consequences of a patrimonial and non-patrimonial nature that concern both the ex-spouses as well as their minor or even adult common children. Furthermore, the implications of a divorce extend the scope of its consequences beyond the already well-established domain of family law, more precisely in matters of succession, contracts, capacity, as well as identification (name, domicile) and protection of individuals. The effects consolidated by the dissolution of a marriage in the area of criminal law are also not to be neglected, effects which apparently would not have had an impact in another environment than the one of the civil law. Ascertaining such a wide incidence, we aim to analyse in the present study that part of the consequences of the dissolution of the marriage, especially those of a non-patrimonial nature, from a broad theoretical perspective, but without omitting the jurisprudential aspects.
