Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the role of comparative structures in the individual lingual picture of the world of Ivan Bagreany, particularly in his novel “The Gethsemane Garden”. The author analyzes the connection between the semantics of comparisons and the theme and idea of the novel, with a special attention to biblical imagery.
