Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze a rather unique miscellaneous manuscript from the end of the 17th century, which contains both a Slavonic-Romanian lexicon and a Romanian translation of the Akathist Hymn, accompanied by the original Slavonic text on the left half of each page. The translator, a certain logothete named Mihai, does his best to provide his own version of a text whose first translations had only started surfacing in the first half of the same century. In the process of rendering the Slavonic text, he encountered a number of difficulties, some due to the morphological differences between Romanian and Slavonic (which were less apparent or even absent in the case of Slavonic and Greek), others due to his own carelessness or even lack of grammatical knowledge.
