Summary/Abstract: Poverty, as a disease of society, not only causes suffering to those under its influence, but also affects the development capacity of the social body and the functioning of the economy. In this material, the main indicators specific to poverty in Romania, in the period 2007-2021, are presented and evaluated. In this sense, we followed the poverty threshold, the relative poverty rate, the income inequality index, the Gini coefficient.
