Summary/Abstract: This study aims to examine the structural elements that defined the political and diplomatic relations between the Romanian and Spanish states after 1965. The internal transformations of the Franco regime led to a strategic change in Spanish foreign policy, which resonated with the new articulations of Romanian diplomacy in the 1960s. Despite the ideological fractures between the two regimes, the new orientations of the Romanian and Spanish foreign policy define the appropriate framework for the resumption of bilateral dialogue, articulated by various diplomatic interests and political difficulties.
