IN MEMORIAM MIRCEA BRAGA. Professor Emeritus MIRCEA BRAGA (1938-2023)

Summary/Abstract: This study is dedicated (IN MEMORIAM) to Professor Mircea Braga, one of the most important contemporary Romanian cultural personalities, former university Professor at the Literature Department of the University of Alba Iulia. Literary critic and historian, philosopher of culture, Mircea Braga is the author of many important volumes of literary theory and criticism and has trained generations of philology students, master students and PhD students.We propose a (re)reading of some landmarks of the work of Mircea Braga and highlight some of the author's exceptional ideas. We consider that many of his assertions are constituted today as having a premonitory function, being able to claim as powerful landmarks in a necessary new axiological grid targeting the institution of culture itself.
