Summary/Abstract: An approprite understanding of the praxis of Christian piety is integral part of Christian life. In the periods of the Christian Church it was emphasized with various focuses, to which the reason is not only that altering praxises of piety were implemented in the life of the Church. Christian piety in all its aspect occupies a narrative and interpretative function. It is narrative in providing context to Christian self-understanding. It is interpretative in two respects. In one aspect it does never stand alone but as a reflexion on Christian teaching. In its other aspect it is the actualization of Christian teaching (dogma) itself. The reformed doctrine of sanctification is especially decisive in contextualizing the practice of Christian piety. This article think over this concern through a definite time of the Christian Church with the doctrine of sanctification in focus.
