Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the peculiarities of working with professional English veterinary vocabulary. Summarizing the experience presented in the scientific and methodological literature, the author makes a conclusion about the most effective means and methods of semanticization and primary consolidation of professional vocabulary today. Of particular importance for this research is work with veterinary terms. The complexity of this process is due to the fact that first-year students do not have sufficient vocabulary in the professional sphere. Semantization in this case becomes a fullfledged introduction of a new concept into the professional lexicon of a future specialist in veterinary medicine.
