Summary/Abstract: Security strategies adopted by the Russian Federation at the beginning of the 21st century represent current security visions over risks and threats, as seen by Moscow, as well as opportunities and comparative advantages related to the other international actors after Vladimir Putin became head of state. The analysis of these documents emphasizes Russia’s perception of the security environment, from the stage of great power international concert member, interested in preserving the status-quo, to the position of revisionist power opposed to Western security structures and interested in creating a new power pole at international level.
