Summary/Abstract: The concept of Grand Strategy is a term agreed to be aimed at achieving a fundamental goal of a state entity, but its content and the form in which it is presented differ according to various variables. The first part of the study attempts to clarify our understanding of the concept in this paper. However, regardless of the way in which this strategy is formalized, the source through which the Grand Strategy is identified, its main elements consist of the general objective, the available resources and the methods of implementation. It can be admitted that the existence of a Grand Strategy is not conditioned by the power or size of the state in question, but it can be demonstrated that small states, in order to ensure their survival and growth, are forced to obtain the protection of great powers, subordinating their own strategies to those of the states that protect them. A few examples of simplified strategies will complete the present paper.
