Zafer Toprak’ın Ardından
In the Wake of Zafer Toprak

Summary/Abstract: In the year 2000, I had a remarkable encounter with Zafer Hoca at Boğaziçi University's South Campus. As I quietly passed by, I offered a gentle nod of respect, and to my surprise, he posed the question, "Have you made your decision?" His ability to remember me left me truly astounded. It was a testament to his enduring intellectual curiosity that he had granted me the opportunity to delve into a thesis topic centered around the dissident figure, Ahmet Samim. This was just one of the many invaluable lessons I gleaned from him. Throughout our academic journey together, which concluded in July 2004, I felt privileged to have the chance to share books and ephemera that I believed would pique his interest. And so, until our paths crossed for the last time on February 22, 2023, I carried this honor with great pride.
