Summary/Abstract: The title includes a provocative paraphrase of the motto to Zofia Nałkowska’s Medaliony [Medallions], providing a pretextfor deliberations on the activities of Homo sapiens in relation to nature, as well as on how this aspect can be translatedinto a specific (glotto)didactic situation. The article focuses on a public service advertisement entitled Portret pamięciowy[Identikit], part of a campaign aimed at drawing people’s attention to the problem of pollution of rivers and water bodies. The ad can be used as teaching material in classes of Polish as a foreign language at B2 level. The article describes proposedactivities for such classes. The advertising message follows the convention of a matter-of-fact description of theappearance of the perpetrator (identikit) provided by a river empowered as a subject, recording acts carried out against it.The ad is worth reading in the spirit of the new humanities, taking into account ecocriticism and ecofeminism. Intensifiedmigration processes have made it necessary for Polish schools to adjust the educational requirements to the needs andcapabilities of students with a foreign language and culture background. This advertisement discussed and the relateddeliberations can thus inspire Polish language teachers working with class groups that include teenage students withmigrant experience.
