THE CONTEXT OF THE EVOLUTION OF CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Summary/Abstract: For the Republic of Moldova, the development potential of cross-border cooperation is of particular importance, because it contributes as a matter of priority to restoring and strengthening ties established over time with neighboring states and to accelerating integration processes.For the most part, cross-border cooperation is based on the initiative of regional public authorities and especially of local ones, who know very well the interests and needs of the population of local communities.The analysis of evolutionary processes allows revealing the dynamics of cross-border cooperation, identifying its constraints, problems, identifying untapped resources, viable and effective forms of good neighborliness, evaluating vital and effective forms of good neighborliness, evaluating the strength of the historical traditions of the neighborhood, taking into account the homogeneity of the population of at the borders of the Republic of Moldova.
