Summary/Abstract: If we start from the premise that, during the communist period, literature was a "space for the dissemination of ideology" and, at the same time, "the reaffirmation of a missionary ethos inherited from the dawn of modernization" (Ioana Macrea-Toma, Privilighenția. Literary Institutions in Romanian Communism), then the work of Nichita Stănescu can be seen as a juxtaposition of aesthetic innovations, artistic nonconformity and institutional subordination.
