Summary/Abstract: Pandemics are a direct threat to health and life. They directly and indirectly affect many areas of the human environment, causing numerous changes. Undoubtedly, the Covid-19 pandemic has also had an unprecedented impact on the functioning of universities/schools and the entire academic community. Rectors of universities, as well as directors of educational institutions responsible for the continuity of the functioning of these institutions, were obliged to implement a new system of education, verification of knowledge and a management system based, among others, on remote work. The rapid spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus very quickly led to a global pandemic, causing public authorities around the world to face the need to take quick and radical decisions to introduce measures limiting the transmission of the new virus, and consequently – to protect the health and life of their citizens against a hitherto unknown threat. Moreover, a number of universities have taken up a hard fight against the pandemic to maintain the continuity of the didactic process and their further functioning. The pandemic forced the state authorities and the management of universities and schools to change the current model of work and make decisions regarding restrictions on the functioning of education, guided by the safety of pupils, students, teachers and school or university employees. The changing situation has been reflected in the regulations and guidelines of individual institutions, including higher education for the system of remote or hybrid work. The pandemic meant that the existing statutory provisions had to be adapted to the new changing conditions. Undoubtedly, the management staff of universities and schools as well as educational institutions was particularly burdened in this respect due to the need to quickly implement a new work paradigm and the remote learning system.
