Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the play Karabeg directed by Gradimir Gojer analytically and critically from the theatrical aspect. The play was performed on the stage of the National Theater Tuzla in 2004 on two important jubilees for this theater - 55 years of the National Theater Tuzla and 35 years of the artistic work of the actor Muharem Osmić. By means of theatrical instruments, i.e. direct (the text of the play as the starting point of the performance, catalog) and indirect (stage photos, theater reviews, newspaper articles, theories from theatrology, theater history, theater sociology, literature that speaks about the subject being researched and analyzed) sources, an effort was made to find new knowledge about the play Karabeg, and by reconstructing its stage elements to confirm the justification of the staging of the play Karabeg by Nedžad Ibrišimović on the stage of the National Theater Tuzla. With the reconstruction of the play, the played stage act was revived. Researching the topic required an interdisciplinary approach, and it incorporated theater history, theatrography, and theater sociology into its analytical and critical questioning. Each of the mentioned disciplines, using its own methods, tried to gain new knowledge regarding the premiere performance of Ibrišimović’s Karabeg on the Tuzla stage. The play Karabeg had its place at a certain moment, transferred from literary to stage simbols. Ibrišimović’s text and the text below the text know no boundaries of time or place. Honesty and fairness are universal values that leave a mark on the (individual) theatergoer and the (society) theater audience. Theatrical analyzes confirm that the theater audience in Tuzla, Zenica, Brčko, Sarajevo managed to “reach” what is hidden between the lines that is reflected in the dramatic texts of Nedžad Ibrišimović.
