Summary/Abstract: The diocesan bishop is obliged to establish a presbyteral council, which represents priests with pastoral care or offices in the diocese. The council is his collegial consultative body. The author gives a short practical commentary on the presbyteral council according to the 1983 Code of Canon Law (can. 495-501).
