Summary/Abstract: Issues related to logistics, and especially to the prices of military transports, have not been of much interest to historians studying the Great War with the Teutonic Order so far. This article aims to explain this issue by analyzing the costs of transports related to the Dobrzyń campaign, which were noted on the pages of two sources. These sources are: the Treasurer of Malbork’s book and Materials on Toruń’s participation in the Teutonic expedition to the Dobrzyńland in 1409. In this paper, the analysis covers nominal costs, i.e. those received by transport providers, as well as costs related to distance, and relative costs, i.e. costs of transporting one unit of given goods in relation to the distance. Thanks to such defined costs, it is possible to compare nominal prices for transports and examine whether a larger transport of goods was more profitable than smaller transports. Thanks to a considerable amount of information about transport providers, it will also be possible to answer the question whether the individual transport provider could have influenced the final price. Thanks to the information contained in the treasurer of Malbork’s book, it will also be possible to answer the question of the daily wage for carters hired to carry out transport actions during the war campaign. In addition, some of the city bills – which were not assigned to a specific transport – allow us to check whether the carters’ helpers (listed in the sources as knecht) always took part in the transport actions.
