AVATARS OF MATURING IN THE NOVEL NOAPTE BUNĂ, COPII! BY RADU PAVEL GEO

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to emphasize the way in which Radu Pavel Gheo surprises in the novel „Noapte bună, copii!” the period of childhood and adolescence in the final years of Romanian communism and the acute desire for the characters to mature, which comes with wrong choices, inadaptability and a youth marked by the imprint of communism, all of them presented with the help of a fictional autobiography, a heterodiegetic narrative in the 3rd person and the predominance of limited internal perception, in which the writer chooses to use reality as a source of fiction. The call to memory is realized both from the perspective of the author and through the two key characters who recall episodes from their childhood and adolescence throughout the novel. The uniqueness of his work is due to the techniques he uses, the alternation of episodes and plans, the transition from "then" to "now" with the help of polyscopic narration and the presence of a symbolic and a parabolic plan that are based on the theme of the fight between good and evil.
