Overview of fines and penalties imposed by the supervisory authorities within the EU under the General Data Protection Regulation between January – June 2023

Summary/Abstract: Five years after the date of EU Regulation 2016/679 applicability, the purpose of this article is to bring to the attention of those interested the approaches of the European data protection authorities within the activities carried out during the reference period. During the first 6 months of 2023, the European supervisory authorities applied 260 administrative fines, their total amount exceeding 1,684,271,482 Euros.
