Summary/Abstract: Almost 7 years after the entry into force of the GDPR, online service controllers prove that they do not understand the technology nor the legal requirements regarding the processing of personal data. Although the correct implementation is a simple process, a case study carried out on 100 websites belonging to municipalities in Romania, shows us the superficiality with which this process is treated. There is a need to educate both controllers and the public targeted by data processing.
