Summary/Abstract: In this novel, written between 1940 and 1942, Ioana Postelnicu no longer submits to the analysis a single case of female consciousness, but creates a gallery of extravagant characters engaged in contexts hard to overlook. A close look at these beings that populate the fictional universe reveals the author’s attraction to pathological cases. In this novel, beyond the dysfunctionality of an artificially increased family, one observes the gradual disaggregation of the personality of its members.
