Summary/Abstract: Despite the dynamic development of businesses worldwide, the phenomenon of the disproportionality of female leaders compared to male leaders remains a barrier and a threat when women create managerial career paths. The subject of controversial public debate is the effectiveness and perception of women in management positions, whose skills in managing organizations and human capital are questioned. The discussion focuses on the reproduction of stereotypical opinions, which are often not reflected in the results of quantitative or qualitative research. The primary research objective of this article is to answer the following questions: 1) Is the gender of a leader one of many determinants of effective management? 2) How are women in management positions perceived? 3) Do women have the right education, qualifications, soft skills and aptitude to hold management positions? 4) Does the presence of female leaders affect profitability and the organization’s position in the market? The article was expanded to include a self-study on the analysis of the perception of the female leader in the workplace. The analysis of the survey results shows that female leaders can be just as effective, or even more so, than male leaders.
