Summary/Abstract: The paper considers the use of the title exousiaste s on the newly discovered seal of Constantine Bodin. It analyses the meaning and use of this title in the sources of a diplomatic character of the 10th century, as well as its use in the 11th century sources . The question is posed why this title was used on Bodin’s seal instead of the title archon , which had been used for former Serbian rulers , as well as whether this phenomenon had any connection to the fact that Serbian r ulers, beginning at the end of the rule of Bodin’s father Michael, used the title of king.
