Summary/Abstract: The wild species Aegilops tauschii, which has been donated the D genome to bread wheat in the course of evolution, possesses high polymorphism for valuable breeding traits. That’s why the production of hybrids of this species is very important to transfer useful genes into common wheat. This study aims to underline the possibilities of crossing the species to accessions from related genera in order to obtain hybrids in unregulated polycarbonate greenhouse. The most important results can be summarized as follows: 1. Aegilops tauschii is a good pollinator in crosses to diploid Triticum monococcum and T. sinskajae, giving rise to seed set of 62.5 - 87.5%, especially when the wild species is a female parent. Hybrid grains are obtained in greenhouse, but they are shriveled in maturity and do not germinate. 2. The crossability is also high in crosses with T. ispahanicum accession 7260 and T. aestivum variety Sadovska ranozreika-4. 3. Production of hybrids with participation of Aegilops tauschii is only possible in polycarbonate greenhouse with controlled surroundings (t=23-25 °С and humidity>60%). Otherwise, the hybrids seeds obtained do not germinate due to injuries of high temperatures during maturity and lack of endosperm.
