"THEY SUFFERED" FAMILY VIOLENCE

Summary/Abstract: Parental homicide is a controversial phenomenon that represents the negation of human values, pleasure and humanity, on which a healthy and stable family rests. In an effort to shed light on the phenomenon of domestic murder, the author will present to the reading public only some of the circumstances and characteristics of domestic violence with fatal consequences in predominantly patriarchal societies, such as Serbia and Republika Srpska, seen through the eyes of the scientific and professional, as well as the literary public. Presenting the latest research results from the fields of criminology, psychiatry or victimology regarding the murder of a spouse, the author gives a detailed account of the causes of violent behavior, trying to demythologize the deep-rooted prejudice about violence against women. With the help of the epic drama "They suffered", the author wants to emphasize the need for more drastic law reforms and more effective implementation of legal solutions by the relevant institutions.
