Summary/Abstract: A blackberry is a shrub that belongs to the Rosaceae family, g. Rubus and includes about 750-1000 species. It is widespread everywhere - all over Europe, Asia, North America and South America except for Antarctica. It is a weed in agricultural areas, but it has been cultivated for centuries and as a cultivated plant. The beneficial properties of blackberries are multifaceted as the whole plant (its fruits, leaves, twigs and roots) is used. Thanks to the unique qualities it possesses, this culture is used in culinary and cosmetics industry, medicine and pharmacy. Blackberry fruit contain a number of vitamins (C, group B, E, K and P), healthy acids, phenolic compounds, fiber, glucose, fructose, pectic substances, amino acids, tannins, minerals
