The Sacrificial Character of the Eschatology of the Ordinary Time in the Roman Missal for the Dioceses of Poland

Summary/Abstract: The longest liturgical period of the year, the Ordinary Time, has many theological aspects to it. One of these is the eschatology of the liturgy. During the Ordinary Time the Church unites the faithful in the celebration of the Eu- charist, which in its euchological texts repeatedly emphasises the truth about eternal life. In this paper prayers with an eschatological aspect and those with a sacrificial character have been singled out and analysed. The content of se- lected orations has been divided into: the dignity of participation, the attitude of service, the gifts offered and the use of grace from the Eucharist. The content is intended to draw attention to the holistic preparation of each believer for the truth about eternal life and to encourage the discovery of the desire to realize this reality in everyday life through participation in the liturgy.
