Summary/Abstract: This paper is focused on the manuscript collection Mc 282, University Library Tübingen. The four volumes of Mc 282 were collected in the 18th century and contain selected texts written for, or copied at, the Councils of Constance, Basel, and Trent. The author analyses the contents of the collection, the compilation process, the historical genesis of the compilation, and its alleged purposes. Thus, this case study contributes to knowledge on the reception of medieval and early modern reform councils in the “Kurmainzer Reformabsolutismus” of the 18th century, and on the genesis of modern manuscript collections in the Erfurt Charterhouse.
