Jan Hus and the Authorship of Expositio super Pater noster brevis

Summary/Abstract: The Expositio super Pater noster brevis has so far been included in the inventories of Jan Hus’ works as undoubted. However, the text considered to be Hus’s has been identified by Dorota Masłej as a model for a Polish paraphrase of the Lord’s Prayer, namely it is the prayer from the end of chapter 37 of the first part of Ludolph of Saxony’s (Carthusian) Vita Iesu Christi, written some time between 1348 and 1368. This finding rules out the authorship of Hus.
