Summary/Abstract: Today, the classroom at the Bulgarian school is almost everywhere made up of students of different cultural backgrounds, and the multicultural hypothesis is becoming the norm. The ability to work with students of different ethnicities and to know their cultural characteristics is a prerequisite for an effective educational process. The principles that a multicultural classroom must abide by are part of these prerequisites in order for it to exist and operate in a quality manner. The requirement for a highly qualified preparation of the pedagogical college to work in a multicultural environment is crucial for the full and effective teaching and learning
