Summary/Abstract: This study intends to offer an answer concerning the sense of the invitation to „come together” launched by the prophet in Zeph 2,1. The previous context can suggest a measure of defense in the face of the imminent judgment of God. Although the judgment action of the Lord’s day may lie in the background, the author insists on the aspect of salvation. In order to obtain this salvation, the people of Israel, to whom the prophetic oracle is addressed, must convert, radically changing their attitude, sincerely seeking God and his saving justice. The appeal launched by the prophet comes to confirm the action of God, who, in his mercy, orients everything towards the conversion of the sinners, so that they may turn back from their wicked ways and live.
