Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses nominative case in Albanian language. The most important function that nominative has in Indo-European languages is the function of the subject, and in addition, this case in Serbian and Albanian can perform several other functions that will be presented in this paper. In Albanian the function of the vocative is performed by the nominative without a preposition, which will prove to be the most significant difference between nominative without prepositions in Albanian and nominative in Serbian.
