Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is a presentation of karoshi—an idea of the annihilation of a body and a soul as seen by James Hillman from the perspective of Japaneses work ethos based on the samurai code and Japanese mythology as a phenomenon registered today, also in the spectrum of Euro-American culture and in a relation to significantly different axiology.
