On the functions of religion on the example of Christianity in contemporary conservative thought. A reflection on the borderline of the philosophy of religion and philosophy of culture

Summary/Abstract: There are at least two reasons why the topic of the function of the Christian religion should be addressed in society. The first is the broadly understood domination of neo-pragmatism and postmodernism in philosophical and social thinking; the second one is related to the social reception of the Christian religion, which, due to various circumstances, is fundamentally different from the reality connected not only with theological nature, but also with the community aspect. The aim of this article is to present selected functions of the Christian religion from a conservative perspective, especially from an axiological and socio-creative perspective.
