Summary/Abstract: The history of rhetoric and the history of theater (therefore also the history of acting) have been intertwined with one another since the 5th century B.C. These two fields of human activity find common ground when it comes to caring about the use of language. These two domains form the skills of making avail of spoken language. Acting, throughout the years of organizing acting schools and workshops developed methods of working with spoken words and language, which, when popularized, could become very useful in an orator’s training process. The examples of including rhetoric in academic courses in the countries of experienced democracy could lead us to a debate about the lack of such courses among polish universities. I suggest a way of teaching rhetoric which uses the methods of working on the spoken word and language for years present in acting teaching process.
