Two letters from Romanian historian Paul Păltănea to Dimitar Mintchev

Summary/Abstract: This article presents the activity of Bulgarian journalist and philatelist Dimitar Nikolov Mintchev (1905–1973). He was also researcher of Romanian-Bulgarian cultural relations in 19 th century and was known as translator and promoter of Bulgarian literature in Romania in the 20 th century. The article reveals a barely known moment of Bulgarian-Romanian scientific relations in 20 th century by publication of two letters by the prominent Romanian historian Paul Păltănea (1924–2013) to Dimitar Mintchev. Researching the past of Romanian town Galats, P. Păltănea needed more information and bibliography concerning history of Bulgarian emigrants in Danubian city in 19 th century. He contacted D. N. Mintchev and both exchanged literature and knowledge to each other.
