Summary/Abstract: The article examines the specifics of interaction of the bilingual artistic worldview of a Veps writer Nikolai Abramov through the example of his own translations, as well as the specific features of the cultural code transformation when transcoding it to another language. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to continue discussing the problems of bilingual literary works, as well as by the processes of development of newly scripted Veps-language literature. The purpose of this article is to analyze the representation of the national picture of the world in bilingual literary works exemplified by Nikolai Abramov’s self-translations. The research focuses on Abramov’s self-translations of his poems from the Veps language into Russian, which manifest the features of the dialogical thinking of the bilingual poet. The translations can also be seen as independent works with new semantic content. In his bilingual works, Nikolai Abramov strives to convey his ideas using traditional symbols and images available to a culture bearer and a native speaker of the language in which the text is written, which also reflect the national consciousness of the people.
