Summary/Abstract: The idea of management found its place in the educational institutions. Over the last fifteen years, the importance of studying management in education has been emphasized. Things that would be good to achieve through the management functions most often are strategies, plans, good organization, quality leadership and successful control. The school management can be viewed ashierarchy system (group – kindergarten, group – school). Particular importance is given to the influence of leadingstyles on qualityschool management. Emphasis is placed on the head teacher and his competences, leadership styles and personality traits. The aim of the thesis is to show the need of development of the school management and defining basic terms. Not enough attention is paid to the school management, so that in most cases the head teacher is barely qualified to perform basic tasks, leading, guiding, planning, organizing and controlling the educational process.
