Summary/Abstract: Motives: The development of development of informatization and digitalization is critical not onlyfor improving the efficiency of transport operations, but also for promoting economic growth becausedigital and information technologies are becoming a key tool for managing technological processesand creating added value.Aim: The aim is to study was to assess contemporary trends in the development of transport systemswhich rely on information and communication technologies and drive innovative developmentstrategies in the Ukrainian railways.Results: The study demonstrated that railway transport operations in Ukraine should be rationalizedby transitioning to a new innovative model which incorporates high-tech infrastructure facilities andspecialized complexes based on advances in scientific knowledge, modern technology, and equipment.
