Summary/Abstract: The article presents an interview with the artist Silviu Oravitzan, about his godfather, the painter Ion Isac. He was born in the commune of Ciclova - Montană, Caraș-Severin county, on April 2, 1885 and died on December 12, 1950 in Timişoara. The simple world of the Romanian village, seen through the painter's eyes, is the main object of Ion Isac's work. His impressionist and post-impressionist creation, in fact modern, opens perspectives related to the perennial character of art, of the work of art that becomes a historical document. The conclusions that can be drawn following this interview can highlight the cultural space of Banat, and the integration of the artistic activity of of the painter Ion Isac in the overall historical and artistic values of Banat and, perhaps, the extrapolation at the national level.
