Summary/Abstract: The term kastra oikoumena, by which Constantine Porphyrogenitus designated the cities in Southern Slavs principalities, was usually understood as the inhabited cities. Since this term is going alongside the term baptized Serbia/Croatia, it appears that this term is releated to the ecclesiastical terminology, and therefore, most probably has another meaning.
